WOW !!! I am flabbergasted!!!
I am proud of my country! That is not a feeling that comes to me easily...
It is a result of this video that i saw... three times... (found it on Bakwaas's blog)
Incredible...
Now, you might wonder why a small 8 minute feature on an American news channel about India should influence my opinion...
Well... I just looked at India through new eyes...
Its not a flattering video about the IT boom and Bangalor-ing. (and yes, that is a word. synonymous with outsourcing.) It shows a lot of negative things about India. But I still am surprised that I never looked at my country in this different way...
I, somehow, feel better.
I am not going to be a hypocrite and say "Oh! India is my country and so i won't go anywhere else - to work or live or anything"
But.. lets just say the scales fell from my eyes...
I am impressed.
To quote a guest on the video about India - "What you see outside is not what is inside. "
And I only just realised it.
On a totally unrelated topic-
The human mind is much more capable than we think..

you konw how cazry I am of taht.. anna I am hpapy.
Hi Anna :)
Just watched the video. It tells the American to watch out for this country with pathetic infrastructure and sorry state of affairs but has immensely talented hardworking people. I think they could've shown a little more of developed India rather than focussing only on slums and vegetable markets.
Anyway, nice informative clip. Worth a watch.
I kinda liked the video, but I'll have to agree with Vince....
But it is better than the crap they used to show before, so atleast for that kudos for this video.
And thanks for sharing it!
BTW: new post is up:)
Cheers!
Megha
srue hvae!
Saw the vieo. It's the same old conventional American media crap telling India doesn't have infrastructure but do have lots of brains ready to be outsoursed to be used at 1/10th the rate of an average Amercian worker.
i wasn't too happy after watching the video. I dont need america taking pity on us, telling us how we struggle while they sleep and all that bull shit. though the video doesn't instil a sense of national pride in me, it sure does strengthen my hatred for those loser americans.
thanks for the link...and yes, the brain is quite an organ...
It makes more sense when you consider the intended audience. Most folks watching the clip on TV would only have a vague idea of a country that exists on the far side of the globe, with too many people ready to take their jobs. Face it, they're a commercial news channel, the key word being "commercial", and they need to keep their ratings high with sensationalist views that pander to their audience. It was never intended to be viewed by Indians, if it were, they may have worded it differently.
